When I first started writing, I had hopes of creating a place online where friends old and new could find me. I thought it would help me practice my writing and consider the issues of the day. These things have happened. I've even made a small fortune on Google ads. But as this blog has grown, I've grown into a new fragility.

Writing online is infinitely public and infinitely reproducible. Even as I've invested the time in it, I am not sure I've come to terms with that. And as the days go by, I find the cost of writing too great, the joy too fleeting. I'd rather do something else.

Still, as time goes on, I cannot help but to think that our lives are moving online and that I'll be a fearful or lazy Luddite if I do not, also, have my own confessional and social space. So perhaps I will return - here or at heartbreaking.org.

In the meantime, I'll use this space to keep those who have lost touch in touch. I thank everyone for reading, for writing. I'm going to step into the real world now and say hello. Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end.

"A thick-haired man."
Remembering fondly when I was [almost] the talk of the town in The New Yorker. The New York Times University Wire covering my being a NYU Student Leader on Staff for Former President Clinton.
